Lake City Colorado with Area Ghost Towns & Silver Mines

Lake City is one the most remote old silver mining towns in Colorado.  Mining started around Lake City in the mid 1870s. Today, Lake City is a great place for fishing, hiking , off roading  in the  summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Area attractions include Lake San Cristobal, Engineer and Cinnamon Passes which are both part of the alpine Loop 4 wheel drive route.  Some of the sights along this route worth taking in are places such as  Capital City, Whitmore Falls,  Empire Chief Mine,  Engineer City, Sherman town site along with  many others. Photographing the scenery is in this area is absolutely incredible.

Nice shot. I like the processing on the clouds. The HDR processing made this otherwise dull photo come alive.

Cool shot. I like the dark sky.
