Massachusetts is rich in history and old cemeteries. To visit and photograph the Old Burying Grounds of Massachusetts in Autumn is incredible. The old maple trees are huge and beautiful, with bright fall colors of yellows, oranges and reds. The last trip to Massachusetts we went out looking for dead relatives for our genealogy project. You see both my wife and I have ancestors in the area that date back to the first settlers of this great country. Finding grave stones of many of our ancestors is a thrill and trying to imagine what life was like back then. I would like to sit down to dinner with our ancestors to visit with them to find out what they were like. The photos in this gallery were shot in the town cemeteries of Ipswich, Harvard, Shirley, Essex, Groton, Newburyport and Lexington. It’s a step back in time. It’s a chance to understand what our Founding Father’s sacrificed for us.

Marble Colorado is certainly off the beaten track. Marble from this quarry went to build the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. That alone is worth the trip. Just think about the journey from the quarry to Washington, DC that all this marble made to be part of history and to be viewed by millions upon millions of people from all over the world. The hills of Marble had the world’s largest marble deposit and as the mill thrived, so did the town. The demand for marble fell during WWI and the population dwindled to about 50 residents. Below you can View the ruins of the marble finishing mill along with the Hays Waterfall and the town of Redstone Colorado close by.

The Vintage Car Club of Castle Rock Colorado had a car show at the Village At Castle Pines last Saturday Aug 22,2009 in Castle Rock Colorado. The show featured Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Muscle Cars. Talking To the owners of these cars you can see the hard work and passion that went into the restoration. Photographing these beautiful cars was a big thrill for me. As you can see in the slideshow below these car have incredible colors, finishes and glimpse of the great history of the automobile. Thanks to all the car owners and the people that put this event together.
