Topaz Labs Adjust 4 is a Photoshop plug-in. It also works with Lightroom, Aperture and others programs. Adjust is powerful exposure, detail, color and noise adjustment filter. You can create HDR like photos from a single photo. Adjust can also turn a plain photo into a stunning fine art photo in just minutes. You are only limited by your own imagination. Once you have created what you like, you can save the settings as a preset for your future work. I like Topaz Labs Adjust  4 for its ability to bring back the color, detail and exposure to what I saw when I first photographed an object. I also used Adobe Lightroom for some minor final adjustments. I can highly recommend Topaz Labs Adjust and all the other plug-ins in the Topaz Labs bundle. I use them all. The photos in this gallery were shot in and around Leadville Colorado. Leadville is an old mining town set at an elevation over 10000 feet above sea level. Visiting the old buildings around the town bring up thoughts of  ghosts from the 1880’s. Each photo  in this Gallery starts off as 3 separate photographs at 3 different exposures  and combined with a process called HDR or High Dynamic-Range. This allows one to see the detail in the shadows and highlights. It also has the ability to create some pretty cool special effects.

Bears in a Rockrimmon Tree in Colorado Springs

On the morning of 6/30/2009  a friend of mine, Barbara called me with a siting of 3 bear cubs and mother bear in a tree in their backyard.  So I loaded up my photo gear and headed down in hopes of  photographing these bears. The bears were asleep on different parts of the tree between 30′ to 50′ up. After the cubs awoke they were playing and climbing   all over the tree while mom was still asleep. After the cubs woke-up their mom they all climbed down to the base of the tree and the 3 bear cubs enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

I grew up in the town of Warren, Michigan, just north of Detroit, but this is not about Warren and when I was born my parents bought a piece of land in Greenbush, Michigan, on Lake Huron. Shortly after that they built a small cabin which my mother still owns today. I have fond memories of weekends and summers spent up north at the cabin. We have lived in several places around the country like Palmer, Massachusetts, Phoenix, Arizona, and our home for the last 16 years Colorado Springs, but I always look forward to a visit to the cabin up north in Greenbush.  The pho­tos in this gallery were taken in North­ern Michi­gan which includes the areas around the towns of Oscoda, Green­bush, Har­risville, Presque Isle, Tra­vers City, North­port and The Sleep­ing Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. I hope you enjoy the photos of my home in Michigan. My next trip to Michigan. I plan to travel to the upper Peninsula and the North Shore of Lake Superior in Canada.
